The 2010 Military Leadership Academy summer sessions are fast approaching and the Academy Cadre are preparing for another exciting year training young Americans to become strong leaders. Building off of a milestone year in 2009, and marking the establishment of our new training venue located at Fort Pickett, Virginia, this year’s sessions have filled up faster than at any time in the program’s history, and have now reached maximum capacity.

The Academy prides itself on laying a foundation of knowledge for cadets to develop into strong and confident leaders armed with tools for success. We are proud to announce that six Alumni cadets have gone on to military service this year alone and nine alumni cadets will return to our ranks this summer to build on their experience and continue to improve as leaders. Alumni cadets continue to implement Academy values and techniques long after they leave Fort Pickett and we are proud of their success!

In addition to mentoring high school students interested in the military, the Academy provides practical leadership experience for its Instructor Staff, all of whom are soon to be officers currently training as ROTC cadets and midshipmen. Since 2007, the Academy has established relationships with ROTC units throughout the country including local programs like James Madison University, George Washington University, and the University of Maryland, and as far as University of San Diego, Washington State University, Texas Christian University, and Texas A&M. We are pleased to have four alumni Instructors returning this summer and are eager to welcome the first Instructors from the Virginia Military Institute and the University of North Dakota.

Entering its tenth year, the Military Leadership Academy is excited to offer an outstanding line-up for 2010 that continues to accomplish our mission of educating, motivating and inspiring young Americans to become positive, productive leaders in their communities.
