Freedom Alliance is an educational and charitable organization which honors and supports America’s military and works to protect American sovereignty and security. Our mission is to “advance the American heritage of freedom by honoring and encouraging military service, defending the sovereignty of the United States and promoting a strong national defense.”
Freedom Alliance sponsors educational and charitable initiatives. Our programmatic efforts are conducted under two broad areas: charitable support for America’s military including wounded troops and families of the fallen; and promotion of public policy initiatives which protect American sovereignty and strengthen our national security.
Our charitable programs include our Scholarship Fund and Support Our Troops programs. Our public policy initiatives are carried out through our Center for Sovereignty & Security.
The Support Our Troops program honors members of our Armed Forces who secure the liberty with which God has blessed us. It is a series of initiatives which meet the various and evolving needs of those who serve our country in uniform to include deployed warfighters, wounded service members, military families & caregivers.
We believe every young man or woman who serves our nation in the Armed Forces is deserving of recognition and appreciation. We believe every service member who was wounded in an operational mission deserves support toward a full recovery and transition to a civilian life. We believe every service member who lost a life in combat or training deserves to be honored and their families helped in overcoming the obstacles they will face as they adapt to the new realities of life without their spouse or parent.
For these reasons, we developed a comprehensive Support Our Troops program which saves lives, saves marriages and makes a positive and lasting impact on those we serve.
For injured service members, Freedom Alliance hosts Outdoor Adventures which provide recreational therapy. We give customized all-terrain wheel chairs and mortgage-free homes to combat veterans and provide emergency financial assistance. We ship care packages to troops deployed overseas; help families during the Christmas holiday with our “Presents for Patriots” initiative; offer Troop Appreciation Events such as dinners, vacations, golf outings, and sporting events which have benefitted troops and their families at nearly every major military installation in the country.
The Support Our Troops program is funded with private, voluntary donations from generous Americans. If you would like to make a donation, please click here
The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund provides college tuition assistance to the sons and daughters of American heroes – the dependents of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled as a result of an operational mission or training accident. We do this for two reasons: first, to help deserving students with the rising cost of a college education and second, to remind them that their parents’ sacrifice will never be forgotten by a grateful nation.
Donations to the Scholarship Fund that are not immediately used for scholarship payments are placed in the Scholarship Trust Fund. The Scholarship Trust Fund was established because most dependents of Iraq and Afghanistan casualties, who will eventually qualify to receive a Freedom Alliance Scholarship, are not yet of age to attend college.
Because our procedures require us to make scholarship payments directly to the school on behalf of the student, the donations are held in the Trust Fund.
When Freedom Alliance provides scholarships to our students, we make those payments directly to the college or university to which they have been accepted and are enrolled. This is the safest and most effective method for ensuring that the money is being used for the purpose for which it was intended. It is also the best way for Freedom Alliance to fulfill our dual obligations to our supporters and to the students whom we are here to help. And while we are ready to help, not every student who qualifies for a Freedom Alliance scholarship will choose to go to college.
The Post 9-11 GI Bill contains a provision for the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship which benefits the children of service members who died in the line of duty after September 10, 2001. Eligible children attending school may receive up to the highest public, in-state undergraduate tuition and fees, plus a monthly living stipend and book allowance. Students may receive up to 36 months of benefits.
The benefits provided by the Fry Scholarship are generous to those who qualify, but they are limited in scope. For example, the Fry Scholarship does not provide for the children of military personnel who served and sacrificed prior to September 11, 2001, nor does it assist qualified students who choose to study at vocational, technical or trade schools. It does not fully cover private or out-of-state tuition. Further, the Fry Scholarship is only available to students for 36 months (3 years) of study. Therefore, Freedom Alliance supplements benefits provided by the Fry Scholarship and provides benefits which the Fry Scholarship does not.
While our military defends our freedoms overseas, Freedom Alliance works to protect our sovereignty, strengthen our national security and preserve constitutional government. We do this through our Center for Sovereignty & Security.
We believe an effective foreign and military policy has clear objectives and is protective of America’s sovereignty, grounded in Constitutional principles, and mindful of the long-term consequences on the individuals who must carry it out should armed conflict become necessary.
Freedom Alliance challenges the United Nations and other global institutions which try to undermine the health of our Republic. We advocate for a strong national security and a military that is prepared to meet the challenges of an increasingly dangerous world. We are committed to restoring American pride and prestige at home and around the world.
We achieve these goals through media appearances, publishing policy papers and newspaper columns, hosting seminars and celebrating America’s history and her heroes.
Freedom Alliance hosts the Army-Navy Weekend conference, an annual event celebrating America’s great history. We tour our nation’s greatest institutions and hear from world class speakers, authors, government officials and military leaders. We also host the Freedom Cruise & Conference which is a week-long forum with dozens of seminars and presentations. We host Capitol Hill panel discussions, bringing our perspective on important issues to Members of Congress and their staffs. Freedom Alliance is also a co-sponsor of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) which typically attracts 10,000 attendees from across the country.
Freedom Alliance uncovers threats to American sovereignty, brings them to the public’s attention, and offers solutions to our nation’s leaders. Over the years, we have been instrumental in defeating the United Nations’ International Tax Office; convincing the U.S. government to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC); ensuring legal protections for U.S. military threatened by the ICC; preventing ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty; and exposing the UN’s plans to undermine our 2nd Amendment, among other accomplishments.
Freedom Alliance has attended UN conferences around the world to uncover the mischief of anti-American activists at the United Nations. We’ve sent representatives to the International Conference on Finance and Development in Mexico; the World Summit on Economic Development in South Africa; the International Criminal Court (ICC) Conference in Uganda; and the Durban Review Conference on Racism in Switzerland. We’ve also attended numerous openings of the UN’s General Assembly in New York City.
