Shantiqua Curnell, a new Freedom Alliance Scholarship recipient, is currently a freshman at the University of South Florida where she is studying Biomedical Sciences.

“I plan on being a cardiovascular physical assistant,” Shantiqua told Freedom Alliance in a recent thank you letter. “This major requires a lot of math and science courses but I am up for the challenge.”

Shantiqua’s father, Ronald Brown, was a Private in the United States Marine Corps when he was classified 100% permanently disabled as a result of a service connected incident.  He was awarded a number of medals and commendations including the Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

“My father is a wonderful man and I am blessed to have him in my life” said Shantiqua. “He has taught me to succeed in my life, dreams, and goals.”

Shantiqua is an Ocoee, Florida resident and prior to college she was a member of the Minorities Pre-Professional Society for Students and New Student Connections, as well as SISTUHS, a community service organization at her high school.
