Liberty Ranch Hunt Club

Freedom Alliance has been proud to partner with Greg Quiel Hunting Clubs to host military heroes on outdoor adventures.  Greg Quiel and his club

members invited Freedom Alliance to an initial dove hunt in 2011.  The next year, the club hosted another five hunts for veterans: quail, turkey, dove, deer, and duck!  We’ve continued enjoying our relationship with Greg and the members of their club and are excited as they change the name of their club to “Liberty Ranch Hunt Club.”

Greg explained his backstory on how these hunts came into fruition and why they continue to be important to him and his members:

“I was a Federal Firefighter for 25 years and worked at Camp Lejeune for 16 years.  In 2008, while on duty as a firefighter, we were handing out Christmas gifts at the Wounded Warrior Barracks on Camp Lejeune and I had a young Marine come up to me and thank me for helping out. Somehow we got talking about hunting and the young Marine told me he missed it and wished he could get out hunting again. There were still a few weeks of deer season left, so I invited him up to my hunt club for a few days. The young Marine shot a nice doe on the first day. While sitting in the box stand, the Marine told me he knew a few more Marines that would love to get out hunting with us. In January of 2010, I set up a quail and pheasant hunt for them at the club. I had some friends come up with some of their pointer dogs and we hunted all day. After seeing all those smiling faces I was hooked on providing hunts for wounded veterans and active duty hunters. In 2011, we partnered with Freedom Alliance to meet new veterans and service members.  Since then, with the help of my club members, we have provided a wide range of hunts for Freedom Alliance. My members and I look forward to providing these hunts and I have made some good friends over the years, and even have had the pleasure of donating memberships to some of the participants.  Earlier this year, I met and began working with Matt Land and Jacob Lishen of Land, Ltd. who helped me change the name of the club to Liberty Ranch Hunt Club with a new logo and website to reflect the hunts we provide for Freedom Alliance.”

We wish the club the best as it continues to serve not only its members with a great hunting experience, but serving those who risk life and limb for our country.  We are looking forward to making many more memories at Liberty Ranch Hunt Club with another dove hunt in September and their annual deer hunt around Veteran’s Day in November.
