President Greg Quiel and the members of the Big Rack Trophy Club in Littleton, North Carolina, continued their commitment to support our military when they hosted three Marines and a Corpsman from Camp Lejeune on behalf of Freedom Alliance.
With only the serenity of the outdoors, their weapons, and shells donated by HEVI-Shot®, the Camp Lejeune hunters and the Big Rack guides headed out to the ground blinds to sight turkeys, in the hopes of bringing home a trophy gobbler.
One Marine named Kevin posted to Facebook during the day, “Enjoying God’s creations…” And although the troops called in some hens and a few toms, the birds never came within shooting distance. That didn’t quash the enthusiasm, however.
Kevin wrote, “Next up: dove season … can’t wait till September gets here now…” Indeed, Big Rack Trophy Club will host another epic dove hunt in the fall for our eager hunters.
For service members coming from a harrowing combat situation, such hunts and other outdoor events for a time help erase some of the war residue and lend to a peace of mind—a great benefit for the modern warfighter.
And so, a big thanks to Greg, Russ, Gary, and Bob from Big Rack Trophy Club, as well as the donors from HEVI-Shot®, for partnering with us to offer military heroes the chance to leave the base and enjoy the outdoors.
Without pressure and without obligation … this is how we seek to say thank you to men and women who serve for our freedom.
