On Monday, July 5th, Freedom Alliance held its third annual Military Appreciation Day with the New York Mets at Citifield in New York City. More than 800 troops and their families were guests of Freedom Alliance for the game and joined us from bases around New York and New Jersey, including Fort Dix, Fort Hamilton, McGuire Air Force Base and West Point, among many others.

An enlistment ceremony was held prior to the game, where twelve recruits were sworn in to the United States Armed Forces, affirming their commitment to serving our country.  During the game, Marines of the 1 Marine Expeditionary Force, who are deployed in Afghanistan, were broadcast on the stadium’s big screen, where they said hello to their loved ones at home and were thanked by thousands of fans in attendance.

Freedom Alliance thanks Steve Castleton for his tireless efforts to make this event possible, as well as the New York Mets and their staff.
