On November 13, 2020, Freedom Alliance and U.S. Bank presented a vehicle to a servicemember in need. Army CPL Helmer “Jonny” Flores accepted a 2018 Dodge Journey in Tampa, Florida. The dealership, Courtesy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, graciously donated three years of maintenance service on the vehicle, out of their desire to honor Jonny.

CPL Flores was inspired to serve his country after the attacks on 9/11. He enlisted in 2005 and deployed to Iraq. While there, during a combat patrol, his vehicle was hit by an IED. The blast left him with a traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress, and wounds to his left leg. He medically retired in 2008.

In 2019, after years of struggling with the wounds to his leg, CPL Flores had to have it amputated. The vehicle will relieve a financial burden for him, and Freedom Alliance President Tom Kilgannon called it, “A small way that we can do our part to show our recognition of CPL Flores’ service.”
