Freedom Alliance hosted four Troop Appreciation Dinners earlier this month for 200 service men and women. These Troop Appreciation Events were held at the Eglin Air Force Base, the Fort Riley Warrior Transition Battalion, the Wounded Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Campbell, and Hurlburt Field, the Air Force Special Operation Command.
Troop Appreciation Dinners are always held at the premier restaurant in town, and many of the service men and women in attendance report that they have never before been thanked for their sacrifices in such a way.

“This has by far been the most amazing appreciation I’ve had since joining the military,” said SrA Nick, who attended the dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House for Airmen of the Eglin Air Force Base.

“The Freedom Alliance is one of the most supportive organizations I have ever encountered in my 18 years of service. Great job!” said Army Ranger CPT Adam, who attended the Hulburt Field Troop Appreciation Dinner, held at Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

One of the staff members from the Soldier and Family Assistance Center for the Fort Riley Warrior Transition Battalion told Freedom Alliance that the Troop Appreciation Dinner is the most popular event of the year – even more popular than NASCAR.

These dinners help the recovery process for many troops by providing an evening away from the day-to-day monotony of life in the hospital. Staff Sergeant Shaun, who is one of the soldiers who attended the dinner at the Fort Riley Warrior Transition Battalion, expressed how important these events are to him and his fellow soldiers:

“This was the most uplifting, morale-boosting event I have seen I have been in the Warrior Transition Battalion.  You deserve more than a hug.  Thank you.”

At the Fort Campbell dinner, Freedom Alliance staff also met Lieutenant Colonel Chris, another recovering soldier, who expressed to us how important this event was to him and his recovery.

“Terrific, family friendly atmosphere.  An amazingly relaxing night with family and friends.  Therapeutic dining experience,” he said.  Freedom Alliance regularly hosts Troop Appreciation Dinners for military personnel around the country to honor and thank them for their service and sacrifice.  The dinners also afford an opportunity for our troops to enjoy time out with their friends, families and comrades.  Freedom Alliance covers all the costs of these dinners, thanks to so many patriotic Americans, who support our work.
