Honoring Service Members at Fort Riley Appreciation Dinner

Categories: Press Release

June 07, 2012 – FORT RILEY, KANSAS– On Friday, June 22, Freedom Alliance is set to host a special dinner for the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Riley, Kansas. The Troop Appreciation Dinner will honor 50 injured service members and their families. The dinner will be held from 6

p.m. to 8 p.m. at Little Apple Brewing Company in Manhattan, Kansas. This event is not open to the public.

The Troop Appreciation Dinner has been held at various restaurants near Fort Riley for the past five years. The last three have been sponsored by a generous Freedom Alliance donor, Sharon Cavey. In a joint effort Cavey and the Freedom Alliance have provided an intimate dinner for over 250 injured service members and their families.

“The Troop Appreciation Dinners provided injured service members with an evening to meet in a stress-free environment. Surrounded by their loved ones, they are encouraged to relax and enjoy the evening. It is our way of giving back for their sacrifice to our nation, and allows them to bond and create new friendships. Freedom Alliance is honored to have such strong support from donors, whose support is integral to coordinate these events,” said Calvin Coolidge, Executive Director of Freedom Alliance.

Last month Freedom Alliance hosted a dinner in Columbia, South Carolina for the Warrior Transition Unit from Fort Jackson. Click here to see the YouTube footage of the event.

Freedom Alliance also sponsors lunches, vacations, family fun days, weekend outings and other events to benefit injured service members and their families. To learn more visit www.FreedomAlliance.org
