Teenagers from across the United States participated in Military Leadership Academy held at Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA

INDIANTOWN GAP, Penn. – July 31, 2012 – Freedom Alliance’s Military Leadership Academy (MLA) held graduation for its second class, MLA Class 34, on July 21 for more than 30 students. The academy was held at Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania during the summer for high school students across the nation. This was the second class to graduate this summer.

The MLA is a national youth leadership development program which equips America’s youth to become leaders in their community. Not only did the students have the opportunity to experience the military lifestyle, but they also learned skills needed to succeed in their personal and professional lives. The first MLA class of the summer was held June 17-30.

“We are proud of all of the students who participated in this summer’s Military Leadership Academy. The young men and women displayed perseverance, integrity and courage. Our cadets went through an intensive summer leadership camp and we saw their confidence rise as well as their respect and better appreciation for those who serve our nation in uniform,” said Freedom Alliance Executive Director Calvin Coolidge.

Since 2001, the Freedom Alliance Military Leadership Academy has been dedicated to transforming young men and women into well-rounded leaders. Many graduates, among other accomplishments, have gone on to serve as officers or enlisted personnel or enroll in a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program.

Activities of the two-week course included a Leadership Reaction Course, the Army Confidence Course – also known as the O-course and Field Training Exercises. Class 34 also had a chance to visit a Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) village-a state of the art training facility; once there, the students were led through a series of MOUT tactics, similar to ones that our active duty military members perform in urban combat situations.

The next Military Leadership Academy will be held summer 2013. For more information, please visit www.MLACamp.com, email Info (at) MLACamp (dot) com, or call 1.800.475.6620.
