The cadets of Freedom Alliance’s Military Leadership Academy were treated to a tour of the Navy’s newest aircraft carrier – CVN 77, the USS Bush, named in honor of our 41st President.  The USS Bush stretches over 1,092 feet and displaces over 100,000 tons, making it one the world’s largest warships. It is also the tenth and final Nimitz-class carrier (nuclear powered carriers). The cadets toured the flight deck, which holds over 90 aircraft, including fixed-wing and helicopters. They also saw the Ceremonial Room and met some of the 3,000 person crew.

The cadets came away from the tour with a greater appreciation for the work and expertise needed to serve on an aircraft carrier. The mission of the Freedom Alliance Military Leadership Academy is to educate, motivate and inspire young Americans to become positive, productive leaders in their communities and to teach the importance of a physically fit, drug-free lifestyle; the necessity of teamwork and value of service to a cause greater than one’s self.

Graduation for Class 30 will be held this Sunday, August 8th.
