Behind every strong man is a strong woman.
“Given my own experience as a caregiver, I comprehend the challenges encountered by other veterans’ caregivers. We also face depression, sadness, resentment, and dread, and it is imperative that we take a break from our daily routines in order to continue providing our veterans with the support and care they require, without losing ourselves.
“Caregiver retreats are crucial because they facilitate the exchange of ideas, the development of relationships, and the provision of support to caregivers who are familiar with their challenges. These events provide a break from isolation and have the potential to be both uplifting and healing.”
~ Nilsa San Miguel, Caregiver Retreat Program Lead

Why We Help
The Freedom Alliance Caregiver Retreat is designed for women who selflessly care for others. Set in a tranquil environment, this peaceful sanctuary offers caregivers the opportunity to connect with fellow caregivers, all while nourishing their mind, body, and spirit. Here, women can find renewal, healing, and a chance to recharge before returning home refreshed and rejuvenated.
Caregivers provide comprehensive support for spouses dealing with mental, physical or emotional illnesses and/or disabilities as a result of their combat service. Their caregiving roles encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, healthcare, and much more, all to ensure the well-being and quality of life of their loved ones.
Freedom Alliance is helping veterans recover from their terrible wounds.

My husband had a crash in an Apache helicopter. He also went over to Iraq and was in a convoy when one of the trucks got hit by a mortar. Attending this retreat will help me meet others that are dealing with similar things in life, and teach me how to deal with stress.
