Last fall, Freedom Alliance commenced a relationship with GreatOceanCondos.com, which is an online booking network specializing in seaside rental condos. With over 120 properties, GreatOceanCondos.com is the largest vacation rental management company in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
This flourishing and generous organization, along with the condo owners it serves, has partnered with us so that injured service members and combat veterans can experience a family beach vacation free of charge!
Already during this year, we have been able to send four military families to New Smyrna Beach to stay in a prime vacation property.
Last May Ashanti made an escape to the beach, getting a break from his daily medical appointments at the Fort Carson Warrior Transition Battalion in Colorado.
“Thank you very much for a very needed vacation,” he said. “The accommodations were awesome. I did a lot of sightseeing and did a lot of good sleeping inside of that beautiful condo. It was greatly appreciated.”
In September, Gil, a retired Marine, and his wife enjoyed an ocean condo. As did Nicolas, a retired Army veteran, who served for four years with a deployment to Iraq in 2011.
In October, Monique and her husband, both Army vets, got out to New Smyrna. The vacation fell during Monique’s birthday and she said it was her “best birthday ever!”
The goal is to continue this partnership so that the gift of a beach vacation may be an ongoing effort to show honor and appreciation to our troops.
Many, many thanks to GreatOceanCondos and its clientele for their patriotism and big hearts. These vacations mean more than we can say for the heroes who serve without asking for recompense. What a special way to show gratitude for our military families.
