These have been perhaps the most difficult and unusual weeks in American history. The COVID-19 virus has infected thousands of our fellow Americans and claimed the lives of dozens. It has caused state-wide quarantines and historic losses in the financial markets. It has forced schools, businesses, and churches to close. It is testing our patience and causing fear and anxiety for millions. And yet, there is hope.
This past Christmas, Freedom Alliance partnered with generous supporters to put presents under 85 Christmas trees across the nation, bringing joy to 330 children and their parents on Christmas Day—families who would otherwise have gone without.
Mr. Jerry Morris of Harrisonburg, Virginia died unexpectedly this week – on February 25, 2020 – at his seasonal home in Florida. He was 80 years old when our Lord called him home. Mr. Morris was a longtime supporter of Freedom Alliance, joining the organization shortly after our founding in 1990. He served on our Board of Directors since 2002 and as Chairman of the Board since 2015.
Freedom Alliance, an organization supporting our nation’s military families and wounded service members, awarded $2.1 million in college scholarships to 499 students in calendar year 2019.
On Veterans Day, with our partners at U.S. Bank, we honored four wounded veterans by moving them into four newly renovated, mortgage free homes!
