In a heartwarming show of gratitude, Freedom Alliance and U.S. Bank gifted U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Steven Stillings a new, payment-free car to honor his 24 years of service. The presentation took place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. at The Westpoint, Irving, TX.

Steven’s career is marked by extraordinary dedication and bravery, especially during his time in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) field. He deployed to Iraq four times after the 9/11 attacks, disarming over 850 IEDs and saving countless lives. Tragically, Steven also witnessed the loss of an entire Navy EOD team in an IED attack, an experience that still haunts him.

Later in his career, Steven developed a program to help EOD technicians transition back to civilian life, an achievement he considers a highlight of his military service. By the time he retired in 2011, he had become the EOD technician with the most IED disarmament missions completed.

After retiring, Steven faced new challenges, including PTSD, chronic pain, and hearing loss. He and his wife, Dawn, relocated to Texas in 2022, where Steven now cares for Dawn, who struggles with autoimmune diseases. Despite these challenges, Steven remains a steadfast caregiver, proving his resilience long after his military career ended.

“Steven’s service and resilience are nothing short of heroic,” said Tom Kilgannon, President of Freedom Alliance. “This car is a small way to honor the sacrifices he and his family have made.”

This generous gift aims to ease the daily challenges Steven and Dawn face, providing some relief after years of sacrifice and hardship. Through this partnership with U.S. Bank, Freedom Alliance hopes to show the Stillings family that their commitment to our nation is deeply appreciated.
