War Heroes on Water Coming in September

War Heroes on Water is an annual sportfishing tournament and fundraiser created to help combat-wounded Veterans recover from the physical and emotional wounds of war. Now in its sixth year, the tournament has, to date, honored over 425 Veterans in person and thousands more with year-round services provided by Freedom Alliance. It is the largest on-water combat-wounded Veteran therapeutic program of its kind in the United States. Over the course of the tournament’s history, hundreds of veterans have had their lives transformed.

Combat Veterans Honored in Alaska

This year was our 10th annual fishing trip to Sitka, Alaska. Thank you so much to Dave and Vonnie (left) of Vonnie’s Charters at Halibut Point Lodge who donated this trip for so many years, making such a difference in the lives of the wounded veterans who attended. And thank you to Mikey and McKenzie (right) of Cast Alaska Charters & Lodge who recently purchased Vonnie’s and have agreed to carry on the generous tradition. Thank you all for serving our nation’s veterans, helping them on their healing journeys, and letting them know they are not forgotten.

Scholarship Recipients Entering Military Service

We are proud to announce that two Freedom Alliance scholars are entering into military service this summer. Both Gracie Burgess and Kiki Patterson’s fathers served in the War on Terror. SGT Burgess lost his right leg and his mobility and SSG Patterson lost his life. Now, in honor of their fathers, both young women are stepping up to serve our country. We are so proud of their strength, courage, and conviction, and we wish them well in this next endeavor.

Freedom Alliance Receives Amazing Gift to Help Veterans

We send our deepest gratitude to Gerald and Virginia Lindholm for donating their beautiful condo to Freedom Alliance. It enhances our efforts to care for wounded service members and provide opportunities for couples to strengthen their marriages after many years of deployments and injuries. It has already helped us minister to military families in need and in the coming years it will help us make a huge impact on countless veterans and their families. Our deepest thanks to the Lindholms for their incredible generosity and for the leadership Gerald provides as chairman of our Board of Directors.
