Every December, the Army–Navy Game brings together something special. It is not just about football. It is about tradition, service, and the people who have dedicated their lives to something bigger than themselves. This year’s Freedom Alliance Army–Navy Weekend was a perfect example of that. From December 11 to 13, Freedom Alliance welcomed supporters, veterans, Gold Star families, scholarship students, and friends from 17 states for a weekend built around connection, gratitude, and one unforgettable game.
The weekend got started as Freedom Alliance leadership, board members, and guests gathered to reconnect and spend time together. By Friday, familiar faces and first-time attendees came together for a welcome lunch that set the tone for the days ahead. That afternoon, guests traveled into Washington, D.C., for a visit to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Standing inside such a historic space was a powerful reminder of the leadership, sacrifice, and responsibility that come with serving our country.
Friday evening’s reception and dinner was a highlight of the weekend. It gave everyone a chance to relax, enjoy good food, and hear stories that remind us why Freedom Alliance’s mission matters. We were honored to recognize U.S. Army First Sergeant (Ret.) Pablo Cadena and his wife Charlene as Volunteers of the Year for their continued commitment to serving others. Scholarship student Ja’Niayah Ellis also attended on behalf of the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund and honored the memory of her father, Army SSG James D. Ellis, who was killed in action in Iraq.
Saturday morning began with a game day breakfast before heading to M&T Bank Stadium for the 126th Army–Navy Game. The March-On of Cadets and Midshipmen never fails to give goosebumps, and this year was no different. Army and Navy battled back and forth in a tight, exciting matchup, with Navy securing a 17–16 victory in the final moments.
The weekend wrapped up with a closing reception where guests swapped stories, shared laughs, and reflected on a few meaningful days together. For some, Army–Navy Weekend has become a favorite annual tradition. For others, it was their first time, but it certainly will not be their last.
Army–Navy Weekend is about more than a score on the board. It is about honoring service, remembering sacrifice, and spending time with people who truly get it. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this weekend so special. We look forward to doing it again this year.
